Background
In the first years of Finn Ickler’s Photography he shot on a Minolta 7000 AF, which did not offer much manual configuration as it was stuck in Automatic Priority mode. When he bought a Mamiya 645 in January 2022 he started experimenting with techniques like multiple exposure, long exposure and covering certain parts of the lense. The pictures vary on their level of abstraction. In some people and objects can be recognized, while others consist only of colors and shapes. Most of the photos are titled by the location they were taken, showing that most of them were photographed while travelling in the United States, Korea and around Germany. Ickler used lots of different films in the Project including heavily expired films from as early as the 1980s.
